This emphasises that you cannot catch it and that you cannot contain it. Another example is "nothing to prove he'd ever been at all." This shows that they can't prove that the owl was there and that is created by the emphasis. At the start and the title of the poem is "an owl flew into my bedroom once." This shows is an example of repetition and is made at the start and end of the poem to emphasise that it's just once and they don't think it'll happen again. But however the second repetition of it on the final line something is added on. It's the words "I think." This shows that the speaker is not sure that this happened as they have no evidence of the event happening and it could've just been a dream.
