There are both positives and negatives of using AI to monitor posts from users. Firstly, a legal negative is that it may go against the Data Protection Act. This because the AI could take some of the data from the data from the posts to make sure that it is safe and valid to be uploaded on the website. This may cause an uprise because the users now don't know where this data could be kept and if it is shared to third parties. This therefore means that this is may become a legal negative because the Data Protection Act states that data must be kept secure and to the minimum required. Furthermore, there are also privacy issues with the use of AI to monitor users' posts on social networking websites because the posts of users are being watched and some people may think that this is an invasion of their privacy. This is especially because it is a robot doing this and not a human because robots are much more smarter than humans and we aren't aware of what they store and do so when they monitor posts from users, the users may feel overwhelmed and uncomfortable. This therefore makes the use of AI by social networking websites bad because less users may want to use the website because they feel their privacy is being invaded and the website may end up losing users due to it. However, there are also benefits to using AI to monitor users' posts. An example of an ethical positive is that it monitors individual posts and this keeps the people on the website safe because it reports an removes any malicious content that it may deem to be inappropriate for that particular website. This can especially make parents feel more safe when their kids are using the website because they know that the posts are being monitored and nothing explicit would be displayed. This therefore means that using AI to monitor users' posts also has its benefits. Ultimately, in conclusion I think that social networking websites using AI to monitor users' posts are negative because it can cause some people to feel uncomfortable and overwhelmed because they are being monitored and watched by a robot that could be storing data and using it inappropriately without the users' consent. This would violate the Data Protection Act and may cause less people to use the website which would cause them to lose users. I do acknowledge that it keeps users safe but different people have different opinions and I believe that the majority of people will feel insecure with their data and privacy being invaded by Ai meaning this whole idea is neagtive.
